Job Description Job Description Description: *This position is located in St. George, UT. RAM will provide relocation assistance to the selected candidate in the event of relocation.* POSITION SUMMARY * Set up, operate, or tend welding, soldering, or brazing machines or robots that weld, braze, solder, or heat treat metal products, components, or assemblies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Load or feed work pieces into welding machines in order to join or bond components. * Inspect, measure, or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices. * Record operational information on specified production reports. * Read blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications. * Assemble, align, and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components. * Lay out, fit, or connect parts to be bonded, calculating production measurements as necessary. * Conduct trial runs before welding, soldering or brazing; make necessary adjustments to equipment. * Dress electrodes, using tip dressers, files, emery cloths, or dressing wheels. * Remove work pieces and parts from machinery after work is complete, using hand tools. * Observe meters, gauges, and machine operations to ensure that soldering or brazing processes meet specifications. * Select, position, align, and bolt jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and stops onto machines, using measuring instruments and hand tools. * Select torch tips, alloys, flux, coil, tubing, and wire, according to metal types and thicknesses, data charts, and records. * Compute and record settings for new work, applying knowledge of metal properties, principles of welding, and shop mathematics. * Prepare metal surfaces and work pieces, using hand-operated equipment such as grinders, cutters, or drills. * Clean, lubricate, maintain, and adjust equipment to maintain efficient operation, using air hoses, cleaning fluids, and hand tools. * Set dials and timing controls to regulate electrical current, gas flow pressure, heating/cooling cycles, and shut-off. * Tend auxiliary equipment used in welding processes. * Use and support creation of fixtures and jigs used to hold parts in place during welding, brazing, or soldering. * Fill hoppers and position spouts to direct flow of flux, or manually brush flux onto seams of work pieces. * Add chemicals and materials to work pieces or machines to facilitate bonding or to cool work pieces. * Mark weld points and positions of components on work pieces, using rules, squares, templates, and scribes. * Anneal finished work pieces to relieve internal stress. * Immerse completed work pieces into water or acid baths to cool and clean components. Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Must be 18 years old * High school diploma or GED equivalent * 2-5 years related work experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS [mark applicable] * Lift/Carry 10 lbs. or less _F 11-20 lbs. F 21-50 lbs._ O 51-70 lbs.__ * Must be able to sit and stand constantly _X_ Use hands constantly _X_ TRAVEL * Travel will not be required.
